Playing Story of Seasons Nintendo
3D
I’m a huge fan of Harvest Moon,
of course the first love was Harvest Moon Back to Nature in PS1. I already
played few Harvest Moon games, mostly in PS2 and Nintendo DS. If I’m not
mistaken, with Story of Seasons included, I already played 8 Harvest Moon
games. But I’m so sorry I forget all of the title lol
When I wrote this post, I already
played Story of Seasons until 24th Winter Year 1. When playing
Harvest Moon I usually play as boy, but in this game I played as girl, because
the bachelorette is not that cute to me like the other Harvest Moon (lol). And
another reason I love Nadi at the first sight :D even though sometimes I kinda
want to move on to Raeger :D. It’s not
the greatest Harvest Moon, but so far It’s not the worst too. Before I give you
tips and trick about this game, lemme review it.
As the latest Harvest Moon, whats
the difference and similarity between Story of Seasons and the others? If you
compare it with A New Beginning (3DS), it also has blueprint which you can
upgraded your tool and house from it and also you can edit your farm and the
town, but if in A New Beginning you’re the one who make the town from the
scratch (from the villager’s house to road) , in Story of Season you only
provided some space in the town you can edit, mostly like a public garden or
park. Unlike A New Beginning, most villagers already there, so you didn’t have
Town Mission. Then if you compare it with A Tale of Two Towns, it also has
request system, and has same 2 characters (a bachelor and bachelorette) , Kamil
(the flower guy) and Licorice, but they are not there at the beginning of game,
so I didn’t see them yet. If I want to describe it generally, Story of Season is
similar with the others 3DS Harvest Moon Game:
you can play boy or girl,
it has star-rank-item-system,
There are Llama, Alpaca, Jersey
cow, Suffolk sheep, silkie chicken etc,
You can grow mushroom, honey, and
rice (paddy water)
There are blueprint
There are request system in
shipping
You can have girlfriend/boyfriend
But there are also some
difference or something new in Story of Seasons
You can only ship your item in
trade depot from another country (actually if I’m not mistaken it kinda similar
with one of Harvest Moon in NDS), so in this game you can’t ship your crop/item
everyday. They only come to the town for each few days. At first there is only
one country that you can trade with, but there are another 6 country that you
can unlock. What they sell is difference so, it’s important to unlock them. And
if you ship your crop/item, the price can be increase and decrease, it’s depend
on where country you trade with and the date (there is a recommended shipping
schedule). And every country can request
some item and if you completed the request you are not only get the money for
the item but also some items as appreciation gift.
You are not the only farmer here.
Mostly, in Harvest Moon game you didn’t have any rival as a farmer, but here , there
are 5 farmers (including you). You gotta be careful:D
There is public field system
where you can rent some public field to grow your crop (don’t worry it’s free).
There are many public field that you can rent but every public field has
different type so you can only grow specific type of crops in specific field.
If you wanna grow rice, you have to rent paddy watter public field, if you
wanna grow flower you have to rent flower public field. But like I said before,
you are not the only farmer here, most of public field already rented by the
other farmers, so you can rent the publc field if the rent date of the public
field already expired. But to do that, you have compete with them, and
sometimes it’s not just the one who already rented it you have to compete with,
but the other farmers also can join the competition. There are many competition
that you can choose to compete with them, but one of the competition that you
can choose is the total shipment. If you want to win the competition then you
should ship your crop/item until it can be the highest total earning of
shipment compared the other competitor (I always choose this option actually,
so I’m sorry I can’t explain the other options lol). This system is running by
The Guild, so if you want to rent public field you can talk with Veronica in
the Guild.
You can swimming right now!! Yeah
in Story of Seasons, you can swimming in the river to catch fish or some items.
There are pebble and twig here.
Don’t be shocked, at the beginning of the game you hardly find branch and rock
where you can get your lumber and stone, instead you always find pebble and
twig where you only can get small lumber and small stone :D
There is a how-to-be-a-farm-training
for a week at the beginning of the game. Yeah don’t be shocked, the beginning
of the game is quite different with the other Harvest Moon. If the others game
only take a day to train to be a farmer then in here you have to train to be a
farmer for a week, please be patience :D
You can edit you house. I mean
it’s not just about the color, wallpaper, floor or anything like that bur also
you can edit where you want to put your household furnishing, like fridge,
storage box, kitchen, etc.
Then here we go tips and trick
for Story of Seasons
1. At the beginning of the game,
when you are still be trained how to be a farmer in Eda house, if you already
can go out to the town, you should begin to pick any items like
twig/pebble/insects and if you already trained by Fritz how to swim, then maybe
you should begin to swim to get any items. Why? Because if you already finished
the Eda’s training, you will be asked to give the carpenter some twigs and
pebble to upgrade your house, where if you already upgrade your house at that
time the carpenter will give you a barn as a bonus. If you already have a barn,
Eda wil give you a cow for free. And when you are swimming you can get
iron/brick and those things are required to upgraded you tool, house and many
more. So gotta be fast!! It’s frigging hard to get iron!
2. Sell only items that you can
see it everyday, like insect, milk or maybe fish! I really DIDN’T recommend you
to sell twig/pebble/brick/iron/glass stone/weed/rock/branch.
3. if you already have hammer/axe
and there is some stamina left in the end of the day, it’s not hurt to begin to
chop the tree and break the rock in your farm, because like I said before it’s
hard to find branch and rock at the beginning of the game, but most of
blueprint for upgrade/build required lumber and stone, and to chop a tree /
break a rock requires me to spend 3-5 days because our stamina is very limited
especially if you grow many crops L (to chop a tree with
old axe needs 50 times and break a rock with old hammer requires 100 times, so
it’s almost impossible to finish it for one day, but don’t worry the game
didn’t reset our process if we continue it next day, but you should remember
the tree/rock that you trying to break at the previous day :D )
4. if you like me who want to
marry Nadi and want to finish this game as soon as possible :D, because he is
not unlocked at the beginning of the game and you can unlock him at the beginning
of Winter (1st year), you should completed many requests from Silk
Country. Why? Nadi love Grass Drink (+1000 fp), and it’s frigging hard to find
the recipe, but there are some request from Silk Country that if you completed
it you will get Grass Drink. So if you want to accept the request, better first
choose request from Silk Country especially the one who has Grass Drink as the
reward. Also, in this game you can also increase friendship by wearing their
favorite outfits/accessories, and the easiest Nadi’s favorite outfits to obtains
is Green Hoodie, it only requires Green cloth+ Black cloth+ white cloth, you
can make Green Hoodie if you already have sewing studio and sheep (black cloth,
white cloth and green cloth are from wool). Oh yeah don’t forget to be rich as
you can (see point 8 if you want), because if you didn’t have enough Glass
Drink, you can give Nadi a Bouillabaise, it only need a fish as the ingredient
and you can buy the recipe at Rose Country where you need 1.000.000 G to ship
to unlock that vendor. Better prepare
everything before you can unlock him, so you can marry him faster :D
5. At the beginning of the game,
you may wonder what first tool I should upgrade / what building I should make,
I didn’t know what the best one actually. But I think the first tool you should
upgrade is watering can/hammer/axe, I don’t know what is the most important,
but they are equally important to me, so if you have already enough iron,
better first upgrade one of them (maybe watering can :P). And for the building,
I build seed maker first, coop the second, and then sewing studio. Also, the
most important thing to make beside those thing is Fridge, yeah bloody Fridge!
And don’t forget to save some money to buy a large bag, because it’s frigging
hard to play with small bag
6. Oh yeah, it’s important to
remember that Store or Trade Depot only sell some items for limited stock, if
you want to grow many crops, it’s better to buy everything she/he has as long
as if you have enough money. At the beginning of winter, I recommend you to buy
all of the Ice that Silk Country has, because if you want to make Larger Fridge,
you need 10 Ices, and as I can remember Silk Country sell it with really small
numbers.
7. If you already at Fall, you
can unlock Safari with simply go to the Guild. In safari, there will be a mine
where you can get some gems/ores. It’s not actually a mine to me, because you
only can get 5-10 items each day. And if you couldn’t find what items you
needed you may save it before you mine, and loaded it again :D. oh yeah, if you
wonder what gems/ores you should find no matter what as soon as possible , I
think they should be iron>cooper>silver> gold>platinum for upgrading
your tools and Bricks (15), Glass Stone (10), Emerald (7), Orichalcum (10) for
upgrading you house
8. I know if you are already rich
in Harvest Moon it’s not quite fun anymore, but in Story of Seasons you may
need many moneys to married! According to Fogu, Normal wedding costs 100.000G
(pregnancy events will be trigger 30 days after), deluxe wedding costs
500.000G(pregnancy events will be trigger 20 days after), and luxury wedding
costs 1.000.000G (pregnancy events will be trigger 15 days after). So if you
want to rich fast, I recommend you to grow many Flax, then produce it to become
Silver/Golden Silk Cloth with Sewing Studio! :D
9. just press ‘x’ button if you
want to skip/speed up some bullshit events/chats like when you build facility,
come to the festival, etc
